EECOL is committed to achieving a strong balance between economic growth, social well-being, and a healthy environment to help shape a better future for our company and the communities in which we operate.

Environment

This is the only planet we have, and we need to do our best to create a sustainable environment for the next generations to come. As part of this journey EECOL focuses on efficiently minimizing waste and conducting our business in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and legislation. Amongst many different recycling programs, all our facilities have Energy Star compliant systems installed to save energy.

We work in conjunction with Newalta, a waste management firm, to provide our customers with several waste and disposal solutions such as lamp and battery disposal options.

Health & Safety

EECOL is committed to promoting, achieving, and continuously improving a safe and healthy work environment at all its locations for all - management, employees, customers, and the public. We believe that safety is the number one priority, more than anything else. That is why we work to have an active and engaged workforce that incorporates Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) into their daily work practices. Our goal is to become a zero-incident organization. We have clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and accountability to systematically carry out and deliver our HSSE objectives and implement a consistent management system across all our warehouses Canada-wide.

Community Involvement

Community involvement is not something we talk about; it is an integral part of how we live, work and conduct business daily. We are constantly looking for new ways to contribute to our local communities as it provides us with a tremendous opportunity to make a difference. For over 100 years, EECOL has taken every opportunity possible to energize the communities we operate and live in.

We support each of our communities in many ways, including charities, community programs, financial support, donating time, and building strong community values.
